The Vía Verde de la Sierra follows a railway that was built but never ran, between the provinces of Cádiz and Seville. It goes through around thirty tunnels and over several viaducts, and passes the Peñón de Zaframagón nature reserve with its large colony of griffon vultures.
The gradients are gentle except for the final climb to Olvera. Bring a light for the longer tunnels, and plenty of water in summer, when it gets very hot.
