One of the prettiest short rides in London. From Richmond Bridge the route follows the river upstream past Ham House and Teddington Lock to Kingston, then crosses the river and runs along the Barge Walk beside Hampton Court Park to the palace.
Much of it is unsurfaced towpath shared with walkers, and it can be muddy after rain or flooded at very high tides. Hampton Court station has trains back to Waterloo.
