The Kattegattleden runs along Sweden's west coast between Helsingborg and Gothenburg, and was the country's first national cycle route. This stage leaves Halmstad for the beaches at Tylösand and follows the coast north through heath, dunes and country lanes to Falkenberg.
It's signposted all the way and mostly on quiet roads and cycle paths. There are plenty of places to swim, and trains run from Falkenberg back to Halmstad.
