The Downs Link joins the North Downs Way to the South Downs Way, then carries on to the coast. From the foot of St Martha's Hill near Guildford it follows two old railway lines south through Cranleigh, Rudgwick, Southwater, Henfield and Bramber to Shoreham-by-Sea.
The surface is mostly unsurfaced bridleway, firm in summer but muddy in winter, so wider tyres help. Shoreham station has trains back towards London.
