The Camel Trail follows the line of the old railway from Padstow to Bodmin, one of the first in the world. The Padstow to Wadebridge stretch runs right along the Camel estuary, flat and wide, with views of the water and its birds; beyond Wadebridge it climbs gently through the wooded valley towards Bodmin.
There's bike hire in both Padstow and Wadebridge, and the trail is very popular in summer, so start early. At Boscarne Junction it meets the Bodmin & Wenford heritage steam railway.
