The Berlin Wall Trail (Mauerweg) traces the former border around West Berlin for about 160 km. This stretch through the centre starts at the Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Straße and passes the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie.
It ends at the East Side Gallery, the longest surviving stretch of the Wall, and the Oberbaum Bridge. In many places a double row of cobblestones marks where the Wall stood. The centre is busy, so ride early in the morning or at the weekend for a quieter trip.
